Steve Bannon, a key player in President Trump’s rise to office has lost his job as head of the right wing website Breitbart news. The site's financial backers chose to remain loyal to the President who’s reacted furiously to Mr. Bannon’s withering comments about the Trump family in a new book.

President Moon Jae-in of South Korea has reaffirmed Seoul’s view that the removal of nuclear weapons on the Korean Peninsula is the best guarantee of peace. He was speaking a day after landmark talks with North Korea. It insists its nuclear weapons are not up for discussion and says they are aimed at the United States, not at South Korea, Russia or China.

Rescue teams in Southern California are hunting for victims of floods and mudslides that have swept through an area near Los Angeles. A ferocious storm there on Tuesday killed at least 13 people.

State prosecutors in Myanmar have charged two journalists from the Reuters news agency under a Colonial-era Official Secrets Act, while Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo have been trying to report the mass killings of Rohingya minority under exodus from Rakhine State. They face up to 14 years in prison.

Apple has announced that from the end of next month, its iCloud services in China will be run in partnership with a company linked to the Beijing government. It’s warned its users of the country that their documents or pictures stored on iCloud will be subject to new terms.

A judge in San Francisco has blocked attempts by the White House to end a program that’s prevented the deportation of children brought illegally into to the United States by their parents. The scheme is to stay in place as legal challenges are heard.

And a Japanese astronaut has apologized for saying he’s grown 9 centimeters taller during his first month in space. NorishigeKanai admitted that he’s only 2 centimeters taller than when he blasted off in December.
